Thu 25 June – Sun 8 November 2026 (Melanchthonhaus Bretten)

  • Exhibition: “We need to talk – Melanchthon and Faust in conversation”

The exhibition brings together two researchers, thinkers and ‘opponents’ in a dialogue on the fundamental questions of humanity. What is a human being? Where should we rein in our thirst for knowledge? And is there anything that unites us all? This collaborative exhibition with the Faust Museum in Knittlingen is funded by the ‘Innovationsfond Kunst’ of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

  • Facade illumination: Light. Art. Sound. AI

Impressive projections of light, colour and AI-generated video worlds will illuminate the facade of the Melanchthonhaus.Project in collaboration with the digital workshop tecspaze and light artist Jürgen Scheible.

  • Film evening: “The Flower of the Night – Marguerite de la nuit” (Adaptation of the Faust motif, France 1955)

Event organised by the Association for Urban and Regional History in collaboration with the Melanchthonhaus Bretten and the Faust Museum in Knittlingen. Admission costs 6 Euros.

  • ‘To This Very Day’ by Matthias Claudius, the poet who wrote the hymn ‘Der Mond ist aufgegangen’

This event is presented by Norber Eilt’s Wortkino Theater. Matthias Claudius was and remains the poet of heaven and earth, the stars, life, death, joy and sorrow: the grand spectacle – he had little time for trivialities.
