“In what we do and what we refrain from doing, the melodies we carry within us find expression.” Dr. Susanne Schenk, the designated CPCE General Secretary, chose art in its various forms of expression as the introductory theme for the morning prayer service at the Protestant Centre.
Art, which holds so much of the divine within it. Which expresses itself in dance, in song, in the visual arts.
Dance steps that remain a mystery if we only see the steps and cannot hear the melody and rhythm of the dancers. Silence that poses riddles.
But also silence that allows us to hear with our hearts.
Silence that does not necessarily lead to silence. For listening silence and singing belong together.
