Among the important new publications of the Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe is the volume published in 2025 entitled “Practice and Theology of the Lord’s Supper. A Study Process of the Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe and other perspectives on the Lord’s Supper.” At its center is the document of the same name, which, developed over several years and in various stages of work, presents a European Protestant over all view and was adopted by the CPCE General Assembly in 2024 in Sibiu, Romania. The volume is complemented by further substantial thematic contributions by Luzia Sutter Rehmann, Wilfried Härle, Jochen Arnold, Bettina Gilbert, and Ralph Kunz.
This publication is now to be presented publicly in a hybrid format. Within a concise and focused program, the editors (Jochen Arnold, Christine Oefele, and Stefan Cosoroabă) and international experts (Jørgen Thaarup, Evelina Volkmann, Agnes von Kirchbach, and Mario Fischer) will present their contributions. This bilingual event (German and English) will take place on Thursday, 19 February 2026, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (CET).
