Interfaith dialogue at the Council of Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Tuesday January 28, 2025, the Palais de l’Europe in Strasbourg hosted a meeting organized by the Commission of Inter Religious and Inter Convictional Dialogue (CIRICD), one of the 9 commissions of the Conference of International NGOs (CINGO). It should be remembered that CINGO is one of the 4 pillars of the Council of Europe, together with the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), the Committee of Ministers and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. The Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) is a member of the CINGO since 2023, and as such, is part of the Interfaith Dialogue Commission.<\/p>\n

Organized alongside the Parliamentary Assembly, which brings together parliamentarians delegated by the 46 member states, this side-event aimed to raise awareness among parliamentarians of the importance of inter-religious and inter-convictional dialogue, particularly at a time when Europe is experiencing political and identity-related tensions with a religious dimension. At the invitation of MPs Gusty Graas (Luxembourg) and Frank Schwabe (Germany), the event was addressed by Marc Cools, President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, and Michael O’Flaherty, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.<\/p>\n

The meeting was an opportunity to recall PACE Resolution 2080 adopted in 2015, but with little concrete follow-up. It was also an opportunity to present the \u201cNetwork for Inter Religious and Inter Convictional Dialog\u201d (\u201cNIRIC Dialog\u201d), an inter-religious sharing website initiated by CIRICD. Some forty people attended the meeting, about half of them members of parliament. Former Council member Christian Albecker represented the CPCE.<\/p>\n

Interreligi\u00f6ser Dialog im Europarat<\/strong><\/p>\n

Am Dienstag, den 28. Januar 2025, fand im Palais de l’Europe in Stra\u00dfburg ein Treffen statt, das von der Kommission f\u00fcr den interreligi\u00f6sen und interweltanschaulichen Dialog (CIRICD), einer der neun Kommissionen der Konferenz der internationalen Nichtregierungsorganisationen (CINGO), organisiert wurde. Die CINGO ist zusammen mit der Parlamentarischen Versammlung (PACE), dem Ministerkomitee und dem Kongress der Gemeinden und Regionen eine der vier S\u00e4ulen des Europarates. Die Gemeinschaft Evangelischer Kirchen in Europa (GEKE) ist seit 2023 Mitglied des CINGO und als solches Teil der Kommission f\u00fcr den interreligi\u00f6sen Dialog.<\/p>\n

Die Veranstaltung fand am Rande der Parlamentarischen Versammlung statt, in der die von den 46 Mitgliedstaaten entsandten Parlamentarier*innen zusammenkommen. Ziel dieser Veranstaltung war es, die Parlamentarier*innen f\u00fcr die Bedeutung des interreligi\u00f6sen und interweltanschaulichen Dialogs zu sensibilisieren, insbesondere in einer Zeit, in der Europa politische und identit\u00e4tsbezogene Spannungen mit einer religi\u00f6sen Dimension erlebt. Auf Einladung der Abgeordneten Gusty Graas (Luxemburg) und Frank Schwabe (Deutschland) sprachen Marc Cools, Pr\u00e4sident des Kongresses der Gemeinden und Regionen, und Michael O’Flaherty, Menschenrechtskommissar des Europarates, zu der Veranstaltung.<\/p>\n

Das Treffen bot die Gelegenheit, an die PACE-Resolution 2080 zu erinnern, die 2015 verabschiedet wurde, der aber kaum konkrete Folgema\u00dfnahmen folgten. Es war auch eine Gelegenheit, das \u201eNetzwerk f\u00fcr interreligi\u00f6sen und interweltanschaulichen Dialog\u201c (\u201eNIRIC Dialog\u201c) vorzustellen, eine von der CIRICD initiierte Website zum interreligi\u00f6sen Austausch. Rund vierzig Personen nahmen an dem Treffen teil, etwa die H\u00e4lfte von ihnen Parlamentsmitglieder. Das ehemalige Ratsmitglied Christian Albecker vertrat die GEKE.<\/p>\n

Le dialogue inter religieux au Conseil de l\u2019Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le mardi 28 janvier 2025 s\u2019est tenu au Palais de l\u2019Europe \u00e0 Strasbourg une rencontre organis\u00e9e par la Commission de Dialogue Inter Religieux et Inter Convictionnel (CDIRIC) qui est une des 9 commissions de la Conf\u00e9rence des ONG Internationales (CINGO). Rappelons que la CINGO est l\u2019un des 4 piliers du Conseils de l\u2019Europe, \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e Parlementaire (APCE), du Comit\u00e9 des Ministres et du Congr\u00e8s des Pouvoirs Locaux et R\u00e9gionaux. La Communion d\u2019Eglises Protestantes en Europe (CEPE) est membre de la CINGO depuis 2023, et \u00e0 ce titre, elle fait partie de la Commission de Dialogue Inter Religieux.<\/p>\n

Organis\u00e9 en marge de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e Parlementaire qui r\u00e9unit les parlementaires d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s par les 46 Etats membres, ce \u00ab\u00a0side-event\u00a0\u00bb avait pour objectif de sensibiliser les parlementaires \u00e0 l\u2019importance du dialogue inter religieux et inter convictionnel, tout particuli\u00e8rement en cette p\u00e9riode o\u00f9 l\u2019Europe est en proie \u00e0 des crispations politiques et identitaires \u00e0 dimension religieuse. A l\u2019invitation des d\u00e9put\u00e9s Gusty Graas (Luxembourg) et Frank Schwabe (Allemagne) avaient notamment r\u00e9pondu Marc Cools, pr\u00e9sident du Congr\u00e8s des Pouvoirs Locaux et R\u00e9gionaux et Michael O\u2019Flaherty, Commissaire aux Droits de l\u2019Homme du Conseil de l\u2019Europe. La rencontre a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019occasion de rappeler la r\u00e9solution 2080 de l\u2019APCE adopt\u00e9e en 2015, mais peu suivie d\u2019effets concrets. Elle a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019occasion de pr\u00e9senter le site web de partage inter religieux \u00ab\u00a0Network for Inter Religious and Inter Convictional Dialog\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0NIRIC Dialog\u00a0\u00bb) initi\u00e9 par la CDIRIC.
