Consultation on the challenges of migration and asylum

A consultation of the Conference of the Churches on the Rhine and the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe confronted the challenges of migration and asylum on the Liebfrauenberg in Alsace from 10 to 12 May 2004. The “Liebfrauenberg Declaration” which was unanimously approved describes challenges of migration and asylum in Europe, recalls the biblical message and the church’s responsibility, formulates expectations of the regulations of the European Union on the protection of refugees and migration, and identifies gifts and tasks for churches and their diaconia.
